Writing in the Round

Since we have the AWESOME wall that opens, we get to do a lot of great things with Mrs. Hubble's class. One time we practiced our writing. Our classess got into groups of 6. Each student got around a minute to write. Then we passed our papers and added to our friend's writing. This was so fun and we got to see some wonderful and creative writing.

Silly Pictures!

Sorry that it's been a while. I was out for most of December for an unexpected medical event. So sorry. I am happy to be back and ready to start the second half of third grade. It's so hard to believe that we are almost half way done with the year!

Welcome Matthew!

Taris~ Our First "Awesome Kid!"

Taris had a great week last week and was chosen as our first "Awesome Kid." This means she got to sit at her desk all day with a selection of books and puzzles that were just for her to use. Her sister even got to come visit. I was amazed when Taris put together one of the brain teaser puzzles! So proud of you Taris!

What Do We Do All Day?

I know you all must be wondering what we do all day! As a mom of a third grader, I wonder the same thing. Let me tell you, we never stop! We get a lot of work and learning done in the short amount of time we have together.

1. We read. We read voraciously. (your child will know what that means) If we find any free second, we read. Then they take Reading Counts quizzes and earn point. Points earn them rewards.

2. We work like crazy. I have encouraged all the student to do their best on assignments and focus during lessons.

3. We collect Box Tops for Education. Keep them coming!

4. We relax. Kids can sit in the classroom recliner to read or learn. Sitting in the recliner is a Reading Counts reward.

5. We sit on our sensory seats. Instead of chairs, some students can sit on a sensory ball. This has been shown to help with focus and attention.

6. We listen to music. For years I have been listening to Gary Lamb. Listening to music is great for focus and helping us learn all we can.

7. We smell good things! I love candles and melted wax! I always have something good to smell in the classroom.
